Denver Trip - Cliff Dwellings

After the railway we headed to the Manitou Cliff Dwellings. Let me just say that I'm thankful that I didn't have to live like that. We were able to walk through and see what kind of living they had.

The beginning of our Denver Vacation

The first morning of our little adventure took us to the Pike's Peak Cog Railway. This was so beautiful. Our train left at 10:40 am. The temp at the bottom of the railway was in the 90s. When we reached the summit it was about 40 degrees. BBRRR.

The summit is at 14, 110 feet.
Looking off the one side of the summit, it was pretty much straight off and rocky.

This is the road that you can drive up yourself. It was soooo steep. There were no guardrails and on the way down you have to check your brakes three times to make sure they are not overheating. That's why I decided that the railway was the best way to get to the top.

Ward Swimming Party

Dean had to work late and Dakoda and Dylan were at open gym for basketball, so Devin and I decided to head to the ward swimming party. Devin is quite the diver. Me, not so much. I hate water on my face. In fact, I seriously could drown in the shower. I'm sure of it.

July 24th 3-on-3 tournament

Dylan, Ky and Devin (not my Devin) played in the tournament this year. They would have won their bracket but they learned a little too late that you couldn't blog the girls shots. That was kind of crap I thought but it was the rules. They ended up taking third due to that rule but they would have won it otherwise.

The beginning of my front yard

We have finally put in our front sidewalk. We didn't walk an ordinary cement sidewalk. We have been collecting rocks from the Strawberry Pinacles and my wonderful brother Ryan supplied us with the sand. Dean did the welding and Dakoda did the cutting for the framework. Dakoda and Dylan laid the rock out and I put the sand in. I think it turned out wonderful. Since then we have now hauled in 52 bags of bark. It looks wonderful. I get lots of compliments on the sidewalk. In fact, the UPS driver asked if she could take a picture of it because she wanted to show her husband what she wanted. I love It!!

Ear Candles

Dylan had a cold and afterwards his ears were plugged. I've taken him to the doctor to have them cleaned when he was tiny and he screamed so I don't think it feels all that great. The girls at work were talking about ear candles and how they work. I found some in Roosevelt and bought them. OH MY GOSH, they work wonders. They were not painful at all. And he could hear the instant he was done.
